20 Outcome of first assessment (1) The co-ordinating medical practitioner must assess the person as eligible for access to voluntary assisted dying if the co-ordinating medical practitioner is satisfied that— (a) the person meets all the eligibility criteria for access to voluntary assisted dying; and (b) the person understands the information required to be provided under section 19(1); and (c) the person is acting voluntarily and without coercion; and (d) the person's request for access to voluntary assisted dying is enduring. (2) If the co-ordinating medical practitioner is not satisfied as to any matter in subsection (1)— (a) the person requesting access to voluntary assisted dying is ineligible for access to voluntary assisted dying; and (b) the request and assessment process ends.
