66 Required GWh of electricity from eligible renewable energy sources

(1) Subject to subsection (2), the required GWh of electricity from eligible renewable energy sources for a year is set out in the following Table—

(2) The Governor in Council, by Order published in the Government Gazette, may fix an increased amount of electricity from eligible renewable energy sources in respect of a year.

(3) If a change is made to the required GWh of renewable source electricity under the Commonwealth scheme, the Governor in Council, by Order published in the Government Gazette, may fix an increased or decreased amount of electricity from eligible renewable energy sources in respect of a year.

(4) An Order under subsection (2) or (3) fixing an amount of electricity from eligible renewable energy sources in respect of a year must be made on or before 30 September in the year before that year.

(5) If an Order under subsection (2) or (3) fixes an amount of electricity from eligible renewable energy sources in respect of a year, that amount applies in place of the amount specified in the Table in respect of that year.
