3A Meaning of *scheme participant* (1) A ***scheme participant***, in relation to a prescribed activity, is a person (other than an accredited person or a consumer of electricity or gas) who— (a) undertakes the prescribed activity or any part of the prescribed activity on behalf of an accredited person, including as— (i) an employee of an accredited person; or (ii) a contractor of an accredited person; or (iii) an employee of a contractor of an accredited person; or (b) undertakes any regulated action in respect of the prescribed activity. (2) A person who is purporting to undertake any part of a prescribed activity on behalf of an accredited person is taken to be a scheme participant if— (a) the accreditation of the accredited person is suspended or has expired or been cancelled; or (b) the activity does not meet the requirements of a prescribed activity.
