59 Assistance to coroners A police officer may assist a coroner in the investigation of a death or fire under Part 4 of the **Coroners Act 2008**. Note to s. 59 substituted by No. 26/2023 s. 15. A police officer who has been nominated as a coronial investigator is required under section 15A of the **Coroners Act 2008** to comply with the directions of a coroner in relation to a coronial investigation into a reportable death. See also section 36 of that Act which requires a police officer to give relevant information to a coroner in an investigation under Part 4 of that Act. In addition, section 60 of that Act provides for assistance by police officers in an inquest. S. 59A inserted by No. 37/2022 s. 15.
