267 Search warrants (1) A police officer may apply to a magistrate for the issue of a search warrant in relation to particular premises or a vehicle located in a public place, if the officer believes on reasonable grounds that there is, or may be within the next 72 hours, on the premises or in the vehicle evidence that a person has committed a relevant offence. (2) If a magistrate is satisfied by the evidence, on oath or by affirmation or by affidavit, that there are reasonable grounds to believe that there is, or may be within the next 72 hours, a thing, or thing of a particular kind, connected with a relevant offence on the premises or in the vehicle, the magistrate may issue the search warrant in accordance with the **Magistrates' Court Act 1989**.
