200U Protective services officer to transport and guard person in lawful custody at medical setting—medical emergency
(1) A protective services officer on duty may do either or both of the following if the protective services officer reasonably believes that a person in lawful custody urgently requires medical treatment—
(a) transport the person to a medical setting;
(b) guard the person in a medical setting.
(2) For the purposes of subsection (1), a protective services officer may—
(a) take all reasonable steps to prevent the escape or attempted escape of the person from the physical custody of the protective services officer; and
(b) take all reasonable steps to ensure that the person's safety and welfare are maintained; and
(c) take all reasonable steps to prevent and detect the commission by the person of any unlawful act or any attempt to commit an unlawful act; and
(d) take all reasonable steps to ensure the good order and discipline of the person; and
(e) take all reasonable steps to ensure the security of any property that is in the person's possession; and
(f) take all reasonable steps to protect the general public from the person.
(3) The exercise of a function by a protective services officer under this section does not prevent the exercise of any other function of the protective services officer under an Act or law.
