200T Functions of protective services officers transporting and guarding persons in lawful custody at medical setting
(1) A protective services officer, in relation to a person in lawful custody who the Chief Commissioner has directed the protective services officer to transport under section 200S(1) or guard under section 200S(2), may—
(a) take all reasonable steps to prevent the escape or attempted escape of the person from the physical custody of the protective services officer; and
(b) take all reasonable steps to ensure that the person's safety and welfare are maintained; and
(c) take all reasonable steps to prevent and detect the commission by the person of any unlawful act or any attempt to commit an unlawful act; and
(d) take all reasonable steps to ensure the good order and discipline of the person; and
(e) take all reasonable steps to ensure the security of any property that is in the person's possession; and
(f) take all reasonable steps to ensure that the person is transported to or from the medical setting as directed by the Chief Commissioner; and
(g) take all reasonable steps to protect the general public from the person.
(2) The exercise of a function by a protective services officer under this section does not prevent the exercise of any other function of the protective services officer under an Act or law.
