#### 80 Interpretation 80 Interpretation > > (1) In this Division— > > > > appropriate officer means the Commissioner, the Director of Public Prosecutions, the Commissioner of Police or any other person, or a person of a class, prescribed by the regulations for the purposes of this definition. > > > > restraining order—see section 81. > > > > the defendant means a person referred to in section 79. > > > (2) In this Division, a reference to a person being charged with an offence is a reference to a person— > > > > > (a) in respect of whom a charge sheet has been completed by a police officer where proceedings for an offence are to be commenced against the person, or > > > > > (b) against whom proceedings for an offence have been commenced.
