60 Deciding application for funeral expense payment
(1) The commissioner must decide—
(a) whether a funeral expense payment is payable; and
(b) if the payment is payable—the amount of the funeral expense
payment.
(2) The following divisions apply to the commissioner when deciding an
application under section 52 (a funeral expense payment
application) as if a reference to an application for financial assistance
in the divisions was a reference to a funeral expense payment
application:
(a) division 3.5 (Commissioner may ask for information when
deciding applications for financial assistance);
(b) division 3.6 (Deciding applications for financial assistance).
(3) The commissioner must tell the applicant, by written notice, the
commissioner’s decision.
