248 Offence for agent to act without authority S. 248(1) amended by No. 33/2010 s. 51. (1) A person must not act on behalf of an owner of a building or land for the purpose of making any application, appeal or referral under this Act or the regulations unless the person is authorised in writing by the owner to do so. (2) A person or body carrying out a function under this Act or the regulations may accept production of a document purporting to be an authorisation, by an owner, of a person to act on behalf of the owner as evidence that the person is so authorised. (3) Nothing in this Act requires a person or body carrying out a function under this Act or the regulations to inquire whether an agent is acting under this Act or the regulations with the written authority of the owner. S. 249 repealed by No. 91/1995 s. 155.
