17A Relevant building surveyor must give owner of land or building an information statement (1) This section applies if a person has applied to a building surveyor for the issue of a building permit for building work in relation to a building of a prescribed class of building. (2) The relevant building surveyor must, within 10 working days after issuing the building permit, give the owner of the building or the land to which the building work under the permit relates an information statement in the prescribed form and manner that contains the prescribed information. See the relevant transitional and savings provision that relates to this subsection in section 285. (3) The failure of a relevant building surveyor to comply with subsection (2) after issuing a building permit does not affect the validity of that building permit.
