179B Mandatory cancellation of registration if practitioner is not a fit and proper person (1) If the Authority or VCAT makes a finding in the course of disciplinary proceedings that a registered building practitioner is not a fit and proper person, the Authority or VCAT must cancel the registered building practitioner's registration. (2) A cancellation under subsection (1)— (a) may be limited to cancellation of the registered building practitioner's registration in a specific category or class; or (b) may relate to cancellation of all categories or classes of registration of the practitioner. (3) The Authority or VCAT may take other disciplinary action in accordance with section 179 in addition to a cancellation of registration under subsection (1).
