171IPeriod of registration

171I Period of registration S. 171I(1) substituted by No. 46/2018 s. 16. (1) Registration under this Part lasts— (a) in the case of provisional registration, for 5 years; or (b) in any other case, for a period of up to 5 years as determined by the Authority. (2) Subsection (1) does not take away from any provision about the suspension or cancellation of registration. S. 171I(3) inserted by No. 40/2021 s. 29. (3) If a person who holds a provisional registration applies for registration under section 171(1)(a) or (ab) before the provisional registration expires, the period of the provisional registration is extended to whichever of the following days occurs latest— (a) the day on which the Authority determines the person's application for the registration; S. 171J (Heading) amended by No. 46/2018 s. 44(1).
