123 Recovery of costs (1) If a municipal building surveyor carries out any work or takes any action under this Division, the relevant council may recover the costs of carrying out the work or taking the action from the owner in a court of competent jurisdiction as a debt due to the council. (2) If a municipal building surveyor carries out any work or takes any action under this Division, the relevant council may apply any sum or part of any sum for which a bond or undertaking is deposited with the council under a condition imposed on a permit under section 22 towards the costs of carrying out the work or taking the action.
