sec.9 Application of division
This division applies if more than 2 candidates are nominated for an election under section 7 . However, if, before the appointed day for the election, 1 or more candidates withdraw their nomination so that 2 or fewer candidates remain nominated— this division stops applying for the election; and if 1 or 2 candidates remain nominated— division 3 applies for the election. See also section 9 of the Act . s 9 sub 2023 SL No. 167 s 4 (sec.9-ssec.1) This division applies if more than 2 candidates are nominated for an election under section 7 . (sec.9-ssec.2) However, if, before the appointed day for the election, 1 or more candidates withdraw their nomination so that 2 or fewer candidates remain nominated— this division stops applying for the election; and if 1 or 2 candidates remain nominated— division 3 applies for the election.
