Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This instrument declares that Australian Defence Force personnel serving in Operation Accordion — ADF support activities in Bahrain, Qatar and the UAE — are performing non-warlike service under the Veterans' Entitlements Act 1986.

That classification applies to those who served in those countries on or after 1 July 2014 and matters because it determines veterans' and families' access to disability pensions, medical treatment and related entitlements for injury or death arising from the operation.
