Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This regulation cancels (repeals) the old 2005 rules about DFISA-like payments for veterans.

What is DFISA? DFISA stands for Defence Force Income Support Allowance. It's a payment designed to help veterans whose social security pension or allowance is reduced because they receive certain compensation payments.

What does this do?

Completely removes the Veterans' Entitlements (DFISA–like Payment) Regulations 2005 from the law books
Takes effect at the same time as new 2015 regulations begin (ensuring no gap or overlap)

Who is affected? Veterans who received or were eligible for DFISA-like payments under the old 2005 system. This ensures they transition to the new regulatory framework without confusion from overlapping rules.

Why does it matter? This is a housekeeping measure. It prevents confusion by ensuring veterans and administrators only need to follow the new 2015 rules, not the old 2005 ones.
