Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This instrument revokes an earlier 2003 determination and declares that people appointed as official war photographers who served on Operation Anode on or after 21 October 2003 are to be treated, for the purposes of the Veterans' Entitlements Act 1986, as if they were Defence Force members rendering continuous full‑time service. That treatment makes those photographers eligible for benefits and administrative treatment under the Act; the Minister exercised statutory powers to create a narrow, retroactive entitlement that administrators must identify and process.
