Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This instrument reclassifies service by Australian Defence Force members of the International Military Advisory and Training Team in Sierra Leone (Operation HUSKY, 15 Jan 2001–28 Feb 2003) from "non‑warlike" to "warlike," revoking the 2005 determination.

That change shifts affected personnel into the warlike-service compensation framework under veterans’ law, making them eligible for benefits and recognition (including entitlements under the Veterans' Entitlements Act) aligned with higher‑risk deployments.
