Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This instrument classifies Operation POLLARD as "non‑warlike service" for veterans’ benefits, covering ADF personnel who served between 17 February 1998 and 1 October 2001 in the defined sea, air and land area north and west of 5°00'S 68°00'E (including waters adjacent to Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Egypt, Sudan and Kenya). The change (replacing a 1998 determination) means affected veterans may access higher disability pensions and specific compensation linked to their service.
