Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This instrument declares that Australian Defence Force personnel serving on Operation Paladin are performing non-warlike service under the Veterans' Entitlements Act 1986. It covers ADF members serving on or after 21 April 2003 in Israel, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and Egypt.

That designation matters because it determines eligibility and calculation of veterans' benefits and compensation for injury, illness or death arising from the deployment.
