Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This Ministerial decision declares Australian Defence Force service on Operation Bolton (13 May 1999–12 Jan 2003) as "non‑warlike service," replacing an August 1999 determination. It covers ADF personnel who served with the UK‑led coalition enforcing the Iraq no‑fly zones in Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

That classification determines veterans’ access to benefits, compensation and pensions under the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986.
