This Act has been repealed and is no longer in force. It is retained for historical reference.
The determination formally recognises RAAF aircrew who served in the Berlin Airlift (15 Sept 1948–29 Aug 1949) as having performed "non‑warlike service." As a legal category distinct from warlike combat or routine peacetime duty, this classification makes those veterans eligible for entitlements under the Veterans' Entitlements Act 1986 (compensation, health and support benefits), ensuring recognition and support for their hazardous humanitarian mission.
