Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This instrument declares Australian Defence Force service with UNOCA or the UN Mine Clearing Training Team in Afghanistan from 8 June 1992 onward to be "hazardous service." That classification affects veterans' access to disability pensions and compensation by easing claims for service-related injury or illness.

It replaces an earlier 1992 determination (removing coverage for 8 June 1991–7 June 1992) and operates retrospectively to cover past service.
