Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This Act declares that mining tenements and mineral claims granted (or purportedly granted) under the Mining Act 1986 before this Act commenced are to be treated as valid even if certain procedural steps were not completed. It affects tenement holders, applicants and the Minister or delegates by removing specified grounds for invalidity (such as missing warden recommendations, Ministerial satisfaction checks or area limits for certain claims), creating retrospective legal certainty for past grants.
