23 Approval application—assessment of tree The decision-maker for an application under section 21 must, after receiving the application, assess the tree to which the application relates. Examples—assessing tree Assessing a tree may include assessing any of the following: • the health, condition and structure of the tree; • the ecological significance of the tree; • the tree’s location, including the tree’s proximity to infrastructure, services and construction activity; • whether the tree is a protected tree; • whether the tree satisfies the approval criteria.
