43 Academic or non-academic staff Fellows

(1) If a casual vacancy in the office of a Fellow referred to in section 8D (1) (a) or (b) of the Act occurs on or before the last 6 months of the end of that Fellow’s term of office:

(a) that vacancy must be filled by the candidate at the immediately preceding election who, in the vote counting process at the election, was the last remaining candidate for election aside from the person who was declared elected, and who remains eligible to be elected, or

(b) if there is no eligible candidate, an election must be held.

(2) If a casual vacancy in the office of a Fellow referred to in section 8D (1) (a) or (b) of the Act occurs within the last 6 months of that Fellow’s term, the Senate must fill the vacancy by appointing a person qualified to hold that office.
