Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

These regulations set out how Commonwealth Treasury Bills — short-term, bearer government IOUs from the early 1920s — are administered. They fix quarterly interest payment dates, prescribe a physical bill form secured by the Consolidated Revenue, and allow the Treasury to record partial repayments by endorsing the existing bill (with Auditor‑General recording). This matters to holders, the Treasury and auditors because it governs payment timing, security and mid‑term balance adjustments.
