#### 13 Appointment (1) The Chief Commissioner is to be appointed by the Minister by written instrument, on a full‑time basis. > Note: The Chief Commissioner is also the Chief Executive Officer: see section 15. (2) Other Commissioners are to be appointed by the Minister by written instrument, on a part‑time basis. (3) A person is eligible to be appointed as a Commissioner only if the person has a high level of expertise in one or more areas relevant to the ATSB’s functions. (4) A person’s appointment as a Commissioner is not invalid because of a defect or irregularity in connection with the person’s appointment.
