sch.1-sec.105 Rear reflectors
A motor vehicle with 4 or more wheels, or a trailer, must be fitted towards each side of its rear with a rear-facing reflector that shows a red reflection of light. A motorbike, motorbike with a sidecar or motortrike must be fitted on its rear with 1 rear-facing reflector that shows a red reflection of light. The centre of each reflector fitted to the vehicle must be— at the same height above ground level; and not more than 1.5m above ground level. However, subsection (3) does not apply to a reflector fitted to a sidecar of a motorbike. A reflector fitted to a motor vehicle with 4 or more wheels, or a trailer, must not be more than 400mm from the nearer side of the vehicle. A vehicle fitted with reflectors in accordance with subsection (1) or (2) may be fitted with additional rear-facing reflectors that show a red reflection of light— at any height above ground level; or at any distance from the nearer side of the vehicle. (sch.1-sec.105-ssec.6) A vehicle fitted with reflectors in accordance with subsection (1) or (2) may be fitted with additional rear-facing reflectors that show a red reflection of light— at any height above ground level; or at any distance from the nearer side of the vehicle.
