sec.73 Application for permit
A person may apply to the chief executive for a permit authorising the use of an unregistered vehicle on a road (an unregistered vehicle permit ) for a term of not longer than 7 days. See part 9 , division 2 for requirements for particular applications. However, a person may not make an application under subsection (1) in relation to a vehicle that is only eligible for conditional registration under section 18 (2) . The application must— state the term applied for; and be accompanied by— the fee stated in schedule 4 , part 5 for the application; and an insurance certificate required under the Motor Accident Insurance Act 1994 for the vehicle for the proposed term of the permit or the insurance premium payable under that Act for the certificate.
