sec.31 Renewal notice

The chief executive may, before the recorded expiry day for a vehicle’s registration, give a notice about renewing the registration to— if the registered operator of the vehicle has given the chief executive a direction to send the notice to another person—the other person; or See part 9 , division 3 for requirements for particular customer communications. otherwise—the registered operator of the vehicle. The notice must state— the recorded expiry day for the registration; and that if the registration is not renewed on or before the recorded expiry day, the registration expires; and that if the registration is renewed after the recorded expiry day, the renewal application for the registration must be accompanied by the administrative fee stated in schedule 4 , part 3 for the renewal. If the chief executive does not send, or the registered operator does not receive, the notice, the non-receipt of the notice by the registered operator does not affect— the expiry of the registration; or if the registered operator intends to use the vehicle on a road after the recorded expiry day—the registered operator’s obligation to renew the registration before the registration expires. (sec.31-ssec.3) If the chief executive does not send, or the registered operator does not receive, the notice, the non-receipt of the notice by the registered operator does not affect— the expiry of the registration; or if the registered operator intends to use the vehicle on a road after the recorded expiry day—the registered operator’s obligation to renew the registration before the registration expires.
