sec.5 Categories and types of Queensland driver licences
The following categories of Queensland driver licence are issued under the Act (each a category of Queensland driver licence)— a learner licence; a provisional licence; a probationary licence; a restricted licence; an open licence. If a Queensland driver licence is a learner licence or open licence, that is also the type of the licence under this regulation. If a Queensland driver licence is a provisional licence, the licence is also issued with a type of Queensland driver licence that is P1 or P2. A provisional licence may be a P1 provisional licence or a P2 provisional licence. If a Queensland driver licence is a probationary licence, the licence is also issued with a type of Queensland driver licence that is P1, P2 or P. A probationary licence may be a P1 probationary licence, P2 probationary licence or P probationary licence. If a Queensland driver licence is a restricted licence, the licence is also issued with a type of Queensland driver licence that is P. The category and type of a Queensland driver licence are relevant to whether particular restrictions under this regulation apply to the holder of the licence. A Queensland driver licence may also be subject to conditions. See sections 201 and 202 (3) and (4) and schedule 3 . (sec.5-ssec.1) The following categories of Queensland driver licence are issued under the Act (each a category of Queensland driver licence)— a learner licence; a provisional licence; a probationary licence; a restricted licence; an open licence. (sec.5-ssec.2) If a Queensland driver licence is a learner licence or open licence, that is also the type of the licence under this regulation. (sec.5-ssec.3) If a Queensland driver licence is a provisional licence, the licence is also issued with a type of Queensland driver licence that is P1 or P2. A provisional licence may be a P1 provisional licence or a P2 provisional licence. (sec.5-ssec.4) If a Queensland driver licence is a probationary licence, the licence is also issued with a type of Queensland driver licence that is P1, P2 or P. A probationary licence may be a P1 probationary licence, P2 probationary licence or P probationary licence. (sec.5-ssec.5) If a Queensland driver licence is a restricted licence, the licence is also issued with a type of Queensland driver licence that is P. (sec.5-ssec.6) The category and type of a Queensland driver licence are relevant to whether particular restrictions under this regulation apply to the holder of the licence. A Queensland driver licence may also be subject to conditions. See sections 201 and 202 (3) and (4) and schedule 3 .
