sec.196 Decisions to grant or renew, or refuse to grant or renew, Queensland driver licences

If the chief executive decides to grant or renew the Queensland driver licence, the chief executive must promptly issue a driver licence receipt to the applicant. If the chief executive decides to refuse to grant or renew the Queensland driver licence, the chief executive must promptly give the applicant an information notice for the decision. However, if the reason for the decision is that the applicant failed a road rules test or practical driving test, the chief executive may give the applicant oral notice of the matters required to be given in an information notice for the decision instead of an information notice. If the applicant asks for written notice of a decision mentioned in subsection (3) , the chief executive must give the applicant an information notice for the decision.
