sec.181 Approval of harbour master to exercise powers under this chapter

The chief executive may approve a harbour master to exercise powers under this chapter. The powers may be limited by the approval or by a later notice of the chief executive to the harbour master. The general manager may give a harbour master any directions about the exercise of the harbour master’s powers the general manager considers necessary for marine safety. A harbour master must comply with a direction of the general manager under subsection (3) . A harbour master may exercise a power under this chapter only if the harbour master considers it necessary to ensure safety. In this chapter, a reference to a harbour master is a reference to a harbour master approved by the chief executive under this section to exercise powers under this chapter.
