151B Acting chief executive officer of V/Line Corporation
(1) If the chief executive officer of V/Line Corporation is unable, whether because of illness, suspension, absence or otherwise, to perform the duties of the office of chief executive officer, the Minister, after consulting the Treasurer, may appoint another person to act in the place of the chief executive officer during the period of the inability.

(1A) Despite subsection (1), the Minister is not required to consult the Treasurer before appointing a person to act in the place of the chief executive officer under this section, if the person's appointment will be for a period not exceeding 4 weeks.
(2) A person appointed under this section to act in the place of the chief executive officer of V/Line Corporation while so acting—
(a) has all the rights and powers, and must perform all the duties, of the chief executive officer of V/Line Corporation; and
(b) is to be paid any remuneration and travelling or other allowances fixed by the Minister from time to time, having regard to the rate of remuneration and allowances for the time being payable to the chief executive officer of V/Line Corporation.
(3) The **Public Administration Act 2004** (other than Part 3 of that Act) applies to a person appointed to act in the place of the chief executive officer of V/Line Corporation.
