230V Securing a site (1) A port safety officer may take all reasonable steps to secure the perimeter of any area of land entered under this Division if he or she believes on reasonable grounds that it is necessary— (a) for the purpose of ascertaining whether an offence against a hazardous port activity provision has been committed; or (b) to preserve evidence relating to the commission of an offence against a hazardous port activity provision. (2) The perimeter of an area secured under this section may be secured for a period that the port safety officer considers appropriate or the Secretary specifies.
