14Minister may direct competent authority

14 Minister may direct competent authority (1) Subject to subsection (2), the Minister may direct a competent authority (other than the Territory) to remove or alter: (a) a traffic control device which is not in the prescribed form; or (b) a traffic control device, traffic island, reservation or road marking established, placed or displayed by the competent authority. (2) The Minister shall not give a direction under subsection (1) in or in relation to the establishing, placing or displaying of a traffic control device, traffic island, reservation or road marking unless the Minister is satisfied that such a direction is necessary to ensure consistency in the Territory in the establishing, placing or displaying of such devices, islands, reservations or road markings. (3) A competent authority shall comply with a direction given under subsection (1).
