34 Police officer may require assistance from members of public A police officer may require a person to assist him or her: (a) in the exercise of a power or the performance of a function of the police officer under this Act; or (b) in the exercise of a power of a police officer to arrest or detain under an Act (including an Act of the Commonwealth) a person who the police officer suspects on reasonable grounds has committed, is committing or is intending to commit: (i) a terrorist act within the meaning of this Act; or (ii) a terrorist act, or an act of terrorism, within the meaning of that other Act.
