20M Power to search persons (1) A police officer may, without a warrant, stop and detain a person for the purposes of conducting a search under subsection (2). (2) The police officer may conduct one or more of the following searches for a terrorism related item: (a) an ordinary search or frisk search of the person; (b) a search of anything that is, or that the officer suspects on reasonable grounds to be, in the possession of or under the control of the person; (c) a search of anything that the person has, or that the officer suspects on reasonable grounds the person has, brought into the special area. (3) The police officer may detain a person stopped under subsection (1) for as long as is reasonably necessary to conduct a search of the person or anything in the possession of or under the control of the person.
