Plain English Summary

5/10 complexity

This instrument fixes the television licence area plan for Remote Central and Eastern Australia, setting the legal boundaries and planning rules that govern who may hold and operate television services in that region. It primarily affects broadcasters, licence applicants, licensing and technical-planning authorities, and the communities served. The plan was made in 2013 (commenced 11 Dec 2013) and was amended in 2017 (affecting sections 5–9); those consequential amendments change technical or administrative requirements and shift compliance and planning costs onto licence-holders and planners.
