22 Transitional—standard telephone services
If: (a) before the commencement of this section, the Commonwealth entered into a contract with Telstra wholly or partly for a purpose relating to the achievement of the policy objective that standard telephone services are to: (i) be reasonably accessible to all people in Australia on an equitable basis, wherever they reside or carry on business; and (ii) be supplied to people in Australia on request; and (b) as at the commencement of this section, the contract is in force; this Act, and any other law of the Commonwealth, has effect as if the contract had been entered into by TUSMA under section 13 for a purpose relating to the achievement of that policy objective.
