#### 66 Continued effect of cabling licences (1) This section applies to a licence that: (a) was issued under section 271 of the Telecommunications Act 1991; and (b) was in force immediately before 1 July 1997. (2) The Telecommunications Act 1997 has effect as if: (a) the licence were granted by the ACA under section 427 of the Telecommunications Act 1997 at the beginning of 1 July 1997; and (b) if a kind of cabling work to which the licence relates is a type of cabling work for the purposes of Division 9 of Part 21 of the Telecommunications Act 1997—the licence were a licence authorising that type of cabling work; and (c) each condition of the licence included under subsection 286(2) of the Telecommunications Act 1991 (other than a condition relating to the duration of the licence) had been specified under section 432 of the Telecommunications Act 1997; and (d) section 427 of the Telecommunications Act 1997 had been complied with in relation to the grant of the licence. (3) Subsection (2) does not prevent: (a) the suspension of the licence in accordance with section 437 of the Telecommunications Act 1997; or (b) the cancellation of the licence in accordance with section 438 of the Telecommunications Act 1997; or (c) the exercise of the powers conferred by section 432 of the Telecommunications Act 1997 in relation to the licence. (4) If a period is specified in the licence as the duration of the licence, section 431 of the Telecommunications Act 1997 has effect as if the licence had specified the last day of that period as the day of expiration of the licence. (5) In this section: > ACA means the Australian Communications Authority.
