Part 3—Form and placement of labels, marks and information
Simplified outline of Part 3
Compliance labels must have certain characteristics (durability, size and position on the item).
A compliance label may, in certain circumstances, be placed on the packaging of an item. This Part specifies requirements for the characteristics of such a label.
If an item is non-compliant, statements about non‑compliance must be printed on the external surface of the packaging and also be incorporated into the documentation supplied.
Labels may be applied electronically to customer equipment that has a built‑in display.
Customer cabling and associated cabling equipment must also be marked with particular information.
Equipment which may be installed or operated in a non‑compliant manner must be supplied with documentation to avoid such non‑compliance.
