Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This instrument designates specific Western Australian premises as "emergency service facilities" under the Telecommunications (Interception) Act 1979, authorizing certain WA emergency agencies to operate telecommunications interception capabilities at those sites.

It matters because it formally links those locations to the Commonwealth interception framework, allowing lawful monitoring or recording of communications by those agencies where the Act permits.
