174Voluntary disclosure

#### 174 Voluntary disclosure (1) Sections 276, 277 and 278 of the Telecommunications Act 1997 do not prohibit a disclosure by a person (the holder) of information or a document to the Organisation if the disclosure is in connection with the performance by the Organisation of its functions. Limitation (2) This section does not apply if the Director‑General of Security, the Deputy Director‑General of Security or any other ASIO employee or ASIO affiliate requests the holder to disclose the information or document. > Note: Sections 175 and 176 deal with the disclosure of information or a document in response to authorisations by the Organisation.
