332Public hearings

##### 332 Public hearings (1) AUSTEL may hold public hearings for the purposes of a public inquiry, for example: (a) in order to receive submissions about the matter to which the inquiry relates; or (b) in order to provide a forum for public discussion of issues relevant to that matter. (2) At a public hearing, AUSTEL may be constituted by a member or members determined in writing by the Chairperson for the purposes of that hearing. (3) The Chairperson is to preside at all public hearings at which he or she is present. (4) If the Chairperson is not present at a public hearing, the member specified, in an instrument under subsection (2), as the member who is to preside at the hearing is to preside. (5) AUSTEL may regulate the conduct of proceedings at a public hearing as it thinks appropriate.
