##### 253 Connection of customer equipment for which there is no permit (1) A person must not knowingly or recklessly connect to a telecommunications network customer equipment in respect of which a permit for connection to a telecommunications network is not in force. Penalty: 120 penalty units. (2) For the purposes of subsection (1), a permit for connection of customer equipment to a telecommunications network is taken to be in force if such a permit is in force in respect of customer equipment that is of the same type as the first-mentioned customer equipment. (3) This section does not apply to customer equipment that is connected to a telecommunications network in such a way that it cannot be used for or in relation to the supply of telecommunications services by the use of telecommunications services supplied by a carrier.
