10 Chairperson and deputy chairperson (1) The Board members must elect a chairperson and a deputy chairperson who are to be chosen by the Board members from among their own number. (2) The deputy chairperson acts as chairperson when the chairperson is absent from a meeting of the Board (or a committee), or is otherwise unable to perform the functions of the chairperson, or there is a vacancy in the office of the chairperson, despite that an alternate member may be acting in the place of the chairperson.
