Medicare levy adjustments
To claim the Medicare levy adjustment available to some low income earners with dependants, a payee must lodge a Medicare levy variation declaration along with their Tax file number declaration. A payee may be entitled to a Medicare levy adjustment if their weekly earnings are $509 or more and they have answered Yes to questions 7, 10 and 12 on the Medicare levy variation declaration.
